In Loving Memory of Cecilia Mae Lambert Pasqua

Pasqua, Cecilia cropped resized photoCecilia Mae Lambert Pasqua was entrusted into God’s loving care Monday, July 31, 2017 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was 71, a long-time resident of Gonzales and native of Brignac, born on Jan. 4, 1946. A retired bookkeeper, she ended her career with her true passion working with disabled individuals at COEA, currently The Arc of East Ascension. She had many nicknames including Cel, Cece, Cecile, Cissy and Peanut. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant in her youth. She graduated from St. Amant High School in 1964 and completed business school. She was a founding member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales where she served with the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Altar Society, Parish Council and CYO. She was also a member of the former St. Amant Park and loved to coach and play softball. She is survived by her two sons, Peter Silas Pasqua and John Joseph Pasqua, both of Gonzales; former husband, Joseph Peter “J.P.” Pasqua, of Gonzales; brothers, Whitney and Margaret Lambert, and Marshall Lambert, and Patrick and Linda Lambert; brothers-in-law, Les Bourque and Dennis Marchand; sister-in-law, Barbara Lambert; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Silas and Bernadette Lambert; sisters, Fabian and Wildred Kling, Earline and Joseph Lavigne, Vivian Bourque and Joan Marchand; brother, Lloyd Lambert; sisters-in-law, Jocelyn Lambert and Bobbi Lambert; former in-laws, Peter John and Rose Militello Pasqua and M.J. and Vivian Sanchez; and former husband, Billy Joseph Sanchez. She loved the outdoors, fishing, cooking, gardening, music, arts, sports, traveling, history, and reading and was a fluent speaker of the Cajun French language. She dearly loved her two sons and all of her nieces and nephews and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Her life will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church beginning with a recitation of the Rosary at 8:30 am and visitation from 9 am to 10 am. A Christian Mass will follow conducted by Rev. Rubin Reynolds at 10 am before a gathering of family and friends at the Fr. Herculan DeMaria Activity Center. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Kling, Troy Lavigne, Greg Lambert, Boyd Lambert, Paul Bourque and Darren Lee. Mama was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, East Ascension Spartans and St. Amant Gators. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services and Crematory in St. Amant. Flowers may be delivered to the church 8:30 am to 11:30 am Friday, Aug. 4 or 8:00 am to 8:30 am Saturday, Aug. 5. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation.
