In Loving Memory of Aelred Bourgeois “Buzzy”

Bourgeois, Aelred cropped resized photoA devoted husband and loving father born in Duckroost, LA on June 1, 1937, passed away June 6, 2017 from complications of Alzheimer’s. He was one of 12 children from a very close family. He was a gentle and kind man that lived to help others, a true servant. His large heart was surpassed only by his large smile, which he shared freely. He was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was employed by BASF and a member of the United Steel Workers union. Buzzy was survived by his wife, Marylene Painter Bourgeois; his 5 children, Russ Bourgeois and wife Brenda Bourgeois, Eric Bourgeois, Ben Bourgeois and partner Claire Giroir, Lori Bourgeois Moore and husband Randy Moore, and Lisa Bourgeois; his grandchildren, Robin Michel, Dana Bourgeois, Matthew Bourgeois, Lynsey Hebert, Clint Moore, Brandy Bourgeois and Joseph Bourgeois; great grandchildren, Lexie, Brock, Jordyn, Emmie, Grant, Adam, Madison and Lyla; and siblings Doyle “Pomp” Bourgeois, Gabriel Bourgeois, and Ralph Bourgeois, Bridgette “Dut” Sheets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Maurice Bourgeois and Elizabeth Mire Bourgeois; siblings, Dorothy Kaiser, Donald “Dutch” Bourgeois, Damian Bourgeois, Cecelia Lambert, Kenneth Bourgeois, Barbara Schexnayder, and Dave Bourgeois. The family would like to thank The Pearl at Jamestown, Hospice in His Care and special thanks to Paula. Also Aimee Bourgeois for the love, kindness, and companionship she has shown Buzzy. Visitation will be Thursday, June 8th, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, La. from 9:00 AM until mass of Christian Burial in the church at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Holy Rosary cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, 3772 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70806. Pallbearers will be Brock Bourgeois, Matthew Bourgeois, Clint Hebert, Clint Moore, Randy Moore and Randy Tullier. Arrangements by Church Funeral Services, St. Amant 225-644-9683

Lisa , Am saddened to hear about the Passing of your Daddy . My Heartfelt Prayers to Your Family at such a difficult time . You all have such Wonderful Memories that will remain in Your Hearts Forever . I am so happy that I got to meet your daddy . His smile remains on his Children’s faces .
