In Loving Memory of Allen James McCoy “Jimmy”

McCoy, Allen cropped resized photoAllen James McCoy “Jimmy” passed on to his heavenly home on Monday, May 29, 2017 in Reserve, LA at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. He was 88 years old, a native of Reeves, LA and a resident of Colyell, LA. He is a veteran of the US Army and served during WWII.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.  One of his greatest accomplishments is his invention of the McCoy Articulated Ankle.  Visitation will be held at Colyell Baptist Church, 19524 Highway 42, Livingston, LA 70754, from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017.  Visitation will resume at the church at 9:00am until religious service at 11:00am on Friday, June 2, 2017.  The funeral will be conducted by Reverend Steve Arledge.  Burial will be in Mount Zion Church Cemetery in Galvez, LA.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Ann Brown McCoy; three sons, Ronald “Ronnie” (Vicki), Richard (Debbie), Matthew (Danna); two daughters, Carolyn McCoy Brooks (Billy) and Joyce McCoy Witmer (Bill); sister, Dorothy Lee McCoy Golf of Tifton, GA; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin McCoy; mother, Elizabeth Ellen Dexter McCoy; and brother, William H. McCoy. Pallbearers will be Carson Witmer, Christopher McCoy, Chad McCoy, Michael Glaze, John Chewning, and Randy McCoy.  Our heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, and Hospice In His Care.
