In Loving Memory of Walter Floyd White, Jr.

american-flagWalter Floyd White, Jr., passed away on October 8, 2016 at the age of 84 years at The Carpenter House following a brief illness. He was a native of Wesson, MS and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1955. Upon his return to civilian life, he came to work in Baton Rouge and made it his home. His professional career included nearly 25 years in banking, and about ten years as a small business owner. His retirement years were among his happiest working in the funeral business.  Hs is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, the former Bonna White, of Georgetown, LA, his brother, Boyce Eugene “Gene” White of Brookhaven, MS, his nephew, David White of Ocean Springs, MS plus numerous cousins and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father Walter F. White and his mother Willie Mae Little White; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and other family members.  Services will be held on Wednesday October 12, at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 9755 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge. Visitation will be from 9 am until 11 am with the service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.  Serving as pallbearers will be Erick England, Randy Foil, John Hodge, Cody Meyer, David Peacock, David White and Robert White. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, P O Box 4196, Monroe, LA; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; the Disaster Relief Fund of Southern Baptists, through Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper RD, Baton Rouge, or any other charity of your choice.  Arrangements by Church Funeral Services and Crematory of Baton Rouge 225-644-9683
